Star Trek: The Complete Comic Book Collection

For the first time, a complete collection of all the Star Trek comic books released from 1967 through 2002 will be available on one DVD set.

As reported by TrekMovie.com, Graphic Imaging Technologies will release Star Trek: The Complete Comic Book Collection on September 1.

Star Trek: The Complete Comic Book Collection works with both Windows and Mac computers. Each comic issue has been scanned, including the advertising, and has been stored in separate PDF archives.

Over five hundred complete printable comic books are included in the set, published by various companies over the thirty-five years. The only comics not included in this package are those of IDW, the current Star Trek comic licensee.

Two more collections will be released in the future, and will tie in with the release of Star Trek XI. They will include an original series set, and a movie-related set. Star Trek: The Complete Comic Book Collection is available for preorder at a price of $49.95

Finally, I can see how Time-Crime ended, and how Worst of Both Worlds began!

I was a very sporadic comic-reader.

Mine is on pre-order. Unfortunately, what none of the press for this seems to mention, is that apparently the two Star Trek/X-Men books will not be included.

While the concept is a little lame, and the second comic is a lot lame, the first one actually wasn't half bad. And the scene with Bones and the Beast is worth the cover price all by itself.

Is anyone else having trouble getting the large-scale image of the DVD packaging, including the comic list to load?

I'm dying to see the comic list, but it won't allow me to, argh!

Some of those TNG comics are really good especially the Worst of two worlds

Just not a big fan of the Trek concept in comics. I remember these TNG era books where practically half the panels consisted of people standing around talking on the bridge. The medium of television conveys that better than comics. Comics are better suited where there's constant action...movement. That's not Star Trek. Maybe unless it's done right and it takes talent to do that.

I think that Trek works better in novels, and Star Wars works better in the comics.

Does it include the British Star Trek comic strips? How about Star Trek manga?

Looks great, either way.

Correcting myself on my above post-- it seems that the Star Trek/X-Men books will be included, despite not being listed.

"No" to the Manga, and "I don't know" to the British strips. I know the newspaper strip syndicated by the L.A. Times will not be included.

Re: Star Trek: The Complete Comic Book Collection

Great concept, except that I won’t be reading Gold Key’s cacca comic books; they are THE worst licensed books ever made. Bad art, bad stories, and bad characterization are the best reasons why. I’d also advise fellow fans NOT to click on them-just look at the Marvel, DC/Wildstorm stuff instead. Now there’s great art and story, not just doody that takes up space on a rack.
When this comes out in stores (I don’t have no fracking credit cards!) I’ll be buying it.

You could just get one of those prepaid credit card dealeys. I have friends who use those for online purchases since they're kinda paranoid.

Sweet. All I ever owned were the Xmen ones and the Worst of both worlds pt 1. Now I can see the others....
