McDonough To Join 'Desperate Housewives'

Neal McDonough, the former Lieutenant Hawk from Star Trek: First Contact, will become a regular on Desperate Housewives next season.

As reported by THR.com, McDonough will have a regular role as a white-collar resident of Wisteria Lane who will become a love interest of Edie Britt (Nicolette Sheridan).

McDonough is best-known to Star Trek fans for his role as the unfortunate Lieutenant Hawk. Hawk was assimilated by the Borg while trying to assist Picard and Worf in preventing the Borg from completing a beacon on the ship's main deflector dish. He was shot by Worf and ended up spinning off into space and presumed dead.

Since First Contact, McDonough has appeared on various series and movies such as: Band of Brothers (First Lieutenant Lynn 'Buck' Compton,) The X-Files, Minority Report and Boomtown (David McNorris).

Oh, that makes me very happy. I just adore Neal and having him on board may actually breathe some life into this fairly tired show.

Will Lieutenant Hawk try to assimilate the housewives?

I'd assimilate Teri Hatcher and Eva Longoria.

I might actually bother to watch that silly show if he did.

But this is yet another example of a good actor I like getting assimilated into the wrong TV show.

I was hoping that Skiffy might pick up his Tin Man series. The writing was iffy but I loved the cast and the production design.

So Neal gets to play opposite Nicolette Sheridan. Tough duty!

That's where I really noticed Neal. He and Alan Cummings stole the show. But the writing was iffy as you said.
