Park Talks 'Star Trek'

Landing the role of Hoshi Sato on Enterprise so soon after her graduation from college meant having to face her fear for Linda Park.

As reported by Tulsaworld.com, Park, hired a year after her graduation from Boston University, had something in common with the character she played, being afraid and having to work through that fear. During her first days of filming Enterprise, she "...was frightened through all of it, and I used it to say, 'OK, this is a gift the universe has given me.'"

Park is in Tulsa to appear at a Star Trek convention. "To be honest, I don't do that many conventions and haven't done one in two years," she said. "So, it's nice to get back in touch with the fans."

She offered her opinion on the new Star Trek film. "The mantle has to be, I think, passed down," she said. "The only way to rejuvenate something is to have it seen through fresh eyes." Like so many who know or have worked with J.J. Abrams, Park shares a high opinion of him. "Abrams seems like the perfect person," she said. "It seems that he would pay homage to what 'Star Trek' is and completely revitalize it for a new world."

Since her work on Enterprise,Park has kept busy, doing theater in New York City, and then returning to Los Angeles to work on Raines and Women's Murder Club. Now engaged, she plans to return to New York, where she hopes to return to theater as well as doing film work. "I would really like to go back to my roots," she said. "I feel like that's good. I feel scared. I feel like I don't know how to do it anymore, and I always feel like, usually, if I'm scared to do something, I think it's time to do it."

Starship troopers 3? Why would an actor be willing to be paid to participate in this?
