Montgomery Finishes Debut Album

Anthony Montgomery has just finished recording his debut album, tentatively titled A.P..

As reported by Title Montgomery, the grandson of Jazz guitarist Wes Montgomery, has turned his attentions to the music world. His debut Hip-Hop album is scheduled to appear in October of 2008.

Montgomery's love of music goes back to his childhood. He sang in the church choir as a child. Later, as a young adult, he sang in an R&B group called A-Sharp. More recently, Montgomery used his own funds to produce a four song demo CD titled What You Know About Anthony Montgomery, which featured four Star Trek-related songs.

Other Star Trek actors have produced music or been involved in musical productions, including: Brent Spiner(Dreamland), Scott Bakula (Dancing in the Dark), William Shatner, Nichelle Nichols, Leonard Nimoy, Avery Brooks, and Tim Russ.

I have this mental image of an album that plays 76 minutes of silence, finished by a bored "Aye, sir."

I hope he's better at hip-hop than acting.

So, it's a CD with four songs. And four of them are Star Trek-related. That's a great way to be taken seriously as an artist.

And it's called "What You Know About Anthony Montgomery"? That's nothing.

As with other trek vets this seems like just another something to pay the bills by selling to trek fans, many of whom seem keen on buying stuff they would never even bother with without that "trek connection."

Coming soon to a trek convention near you - autographed copies available for a 'small' fee.

I second that. Plus I don't even like hip-hop.
