Star Trek - The Funeral Frontier

When heading out to that final frontier, some 'Star Trek' fans choose 'Star Trek'-themed caskets and urns as their eternal resting place.

As reported by Inventor Spot, Eternal Image, designer of funeral products such as caskets and urns, has come up with a unique approach, designing their products to appeal to hobby and religious interests of their clientele.

The first Star Trek themed urns and caskets have been designed and will soon go on sale. An urn, shown here, is designed to symbolize the 24th century styling of Starfleet and the Federation of Planets. A casket seen here was inspired by Star Trek: The Wrath of Khan, with the casket looking like one of the photon torpedoes seen in that movie.

The company expects to branch out into licensed monuments and vaults next year. In addition to Star Trek themes, they offer final resting places themed to Major League baseball, Precious Moments and a Vatican Library collection.

I had no idea an urn would cost $700.

Titles are SUPPOSED to catch your attention. Even if they make you groan. *grin*

Well we have the torpedo casings - now all I need is a torpedo launcher, Planet Genesis, and a starship to take me there and I'll be immortal.

*Back to my devious planning*

Funny that the (rather pricey) urn resembles the Ferengi symbol...
