Yelchin In talks For 'Terminator' Role

Anton Yelchin is in negotiations for the role of Kyle Reese in Terminator Salvation: The Future Begins.

As reported by The Hollywood Reporter, Yelchin hopes to land the role of post-apocalyptic warrior Reese as a teenager in the Terminator movie slated to begin production in May.

Kyle Reese was the man who fathered John Connor (son of Sarah Connor), who lead a resistance in the future to stop the Terminator cyborgs from utterly destroying what little humanity is left after a nuclear holocaust. Reese died in the first Terminator movie while destroying the Terminator cyborg who sought to kill Sarah Connor.

Terminator Salvation: The Future Begins is the fourth film in the Terminator series of movies. Christian Bale (Batman Begins) has already been cast as John Connor. The movie is due to be released in May of 2009.

He'd be playing Kyle as a teen so he could start out as a dweeb and become a hunk. That does happen in life.

He's what, 18 or 19? It's not like he's 12. By the late teens you're either a hunk or you're not, unless steroids are involved.

I think Reese would either be 15 or 16. Still time left to grow out of dweebdom. Or not.

In the script for "The Terminator" Kyle was said to be between 21 and 23.
