Bana Replaces Pitt in Sci-Fi Flick

The divorce of Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston led to an opportunity for Eric Bana.

As reported by Perth Now, when the rights to The Time Traveler's Wife became available after the rights to the story and film roles were freed up with the divorce of Pitt and Aniston, Bana was lucky enough to get the role. "I was very fortunate to get that," said Bana. "...It was originally for Brad and Jennifer many years ago - it was their pet project before they broke up."

Pitt was said to have been very interested in the possibility of time-travel. Both he and Aniston had planned on appearing in the movie and had the rights to the movie prior to their divorce in 2005.

Bana will be playing the role of a librarian with a genetic disorder. When stressed out, he time-travels. "It's a great screenplay and a much coveted role," said Bana, who claimed that the film was "more a love story than a sci-fi flick."

If it's half as good as Butterfly Effect, I'm there.

Never saw Butteryfly Effect, but I've read TTTW three times, and listened to the unabridged audio version once as well. It's a fantastic book. I'm looking forward to seeing this movie!

(Thanks T'Bonz for posting an article about it)
