'Lights of Zetar' Director Passes Away

Herbert Kenwith died at his home on January 30th of complications from cancer.

As reported by Variety, veteran television director Kenwith passed away at the age of 90 in Los Angeles, of complications from prostate cancer.

Kenwith was the director of the third season original series episode Lights of Zetar, which aired in January of 1969. In addition to Star Trek, Kenwith worked on such shows as Different Strokes, Facts of Life, One Day at a Time, Good Times and Sanford and Son, among other shows.

A native of New Jersey, Kenwith began his career on Broadway, as an actor. He appeared in I Remember Mama, with Marlon Brando. Kenwith spent six years producing and directing sixty-five plays for Princeton University's McCarter Theater, working with actors such as Mae West, Lucille Ball, Charlton Heston and others.

Kenwith is survived by a niece and several nephews.
